PaulaPedene2014During her now 35+ year military and federal career Paula Pedene’s expertise runs the gamut from providing public relations and marketing advice and counsel to more than 150 senior leaders throughout a seven-state region; creating a Telly Award winning TV Show called “To Your Health”, creating 501c3 organizations including the Veterans Medical Leadership Council and Honoring Arizona’s Veterans, earning three prestigious Public Relations Society of America coveted Silver Anvil Awards’ a Banner Award from the Society for Health Care Strategy and Market Development, a Silver Quill from the International Association of Business Communicators, and awards of distinction from the Department of Veterans Affairs and other national entities. Pedene founded the Veterans Day Parade in Phoenix in 1997 and has consistently coordinated the event managing various committees, activities and support functions for this large scale special event to present day. Of note, the Parade has received many awards and honors, is cited as the fourth largest in attendance in the country on Veterans Day, and has earned a national award for community outreach. Today Pedene works with Honoring Arizona’s Veterans to present this stellar event in Phoenix each year on Veterans Day Nov. 11th.

She credits her Accreditation in Public Relations, her decade of service in the United States Navy with the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service, support from her family, her colleagues and her faith in being able to have a field of practice that she is passionate about.

As one of the first Whistleblowers at the Phoenix VA who helped uncover mismanagement and lack of care for our nation’s Veterans, Pedene was reprised against for her efforts to expose the truth. Fortunately, she received settlement through the Office of Special Counsel.

Pedene is legally blind due to a hereditary eye disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa. RP restricts her field of vision from 90 degrees in each eye to just 10 degrees robbing her of any peripheral vision. She supports the Foundation Fighting Blindness in the hopes of finding a cure for RP and other sight disorders.
